Skin Care Benefits
Who knew strawberries could offer so many benefits for your skin? I knew they were good for us to eat, but didn’t fully comprehend how awesome this sweet fruit really is.
The truth is strawberries can do quite a bit for our skin. They contain salicylic acid which helps acne, tightens pores and fades scars and blemishes. Ellagic acid, an antioxidant, reduces dark spots and helps to eliminate free radicals. These antioxidants leave your skin toned and fresh.
Strawberry Sugar Scrub Ingredients
3 to 4 strawberries, stems removed
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
Step One: Mash the Strawberries
For this step, you could complete it one of two ways. Mash the strawberries with a fork in a bowl. Alternatively, put them in food processor for a few seconds to puree. Or you can always just mash them with a work for 45 seconds…whatever floats your boat!
Step Two: Combine the Ingredients
Add your mashed strawberries, sugar and Fractionated Coconut Oil in a bowl and stir to combine.
Step Three: Find the Perfect Consistency
Add in more sugar if you find your mixture too runny. Play around with it till you reach your desired consistency. I like mine more on the rough gooey side instead of soupy!
Step Four: Spoon into a Mason Jar
Carefully spoon the strawberry sugar scrub into a jelly mason jar. The ones I like to use are the small ones since the  scrub only keeps for about a week in the fridge. That way, you or the person you give it to can use it all up in a week.
How to Use
Use this sweet smelling sugar scrub in the shower. Add one to two tablespoons into your hand and scrub into your skin, rinsing well. My skin always feels so soft, smooth and radiant afterwards. It works wonders on dry winter hands too!
You might also want to include a little note with your gifts on how to use this strawberry sugar scrub just in case it’s their first time using DIY beauty products.
I also suggest to make extra for yourself! Your skin will thank you.
